A collaboration of ideas, love, and nature.
HEATH & ASHLEY
Our Loving Elopement & Weekend Adventure
June 4th - 8th (4 nights)
Grayson Highlands State Park
Chestnut Hollow Horse Sites
Horse Sites 20 & 22 (they are next to each other)
Thank you for coming to our loving elopement and weekend adventure. We are seeing this as sort of an open-collaboration of ideas and hangs, but we do have a few thoughts that we wish to share.
✧ 1. Beautification!
We want to celebrate the beauty in everything throughout the weekend and ceremony. So, bring anything pretty that you can just to beautify the camp, ceremony, and all of our surroundings. This could be flowers, offerings for the fire ceremony, festive outfits, your butts, etc. There are no rules, but if you can think of something pretty-- bring!
(Keep in mind there will be 4 little ones, so if you bring something fragile just make sure to keep it somewhere where they can't get it.)
✧ 2. Nourishment!
We want to lean into the magic of nourishment for this entire adventure. Bring as many colorful, vibrant, delicious, life-force generating foods, drinks, and snacks that you want. Could be fruits, nuts, cheeses, juices, spreads, dips, kombuchas, chocolate to lick off your belly, etc. If we all bring some goodies, it will be an awesome, nourishing experience for everyone and we will all be feeling tremendous. We will likely be doing several big picnics kind of charcuterie style, with the biggest one being after we get hitched.
✧ 3. Play & Get Wild
...& Chill the F*ck Out, Man. We really do not want this to be an experience of "rushing" and "hurrying to the next thing on the schedule" as most group trips and weddings can easily turn into. We love simplicity, and hanging in nature, and just connecting with each other. We will have a general outline of an itinerary, but it is our intention to just allow it all to happen organically. Any ideas you have before arrival or while we are there are welcome. But, plan on just hanging, playing, hiking, getting nourished, and loving like Ram Dass is hiding inside your pants. He is.
✧ 4. Contribution
We are going to bring as much goodies as we can, but any help is appreciated. Bring what you want/can. Whatever you love. Don't feel like you need to go searching for the 'perfect' things. Everyone coming is exploding with life force, so this should be a great 3-4 day collaboration of potluck style meals, picnics, and belly laughs.
The Flow of Things
A brief outline of what the schedule MAY look like...
Thursday
I think most of you will be arriving later in the evening. We will plan on just hanging, doing typical campout/fire foods, and maybe hitting an evening walk/hike somewhere.
Friday
AM: Alice in Wonderland Themed Tea Party + World Music playlist? (herbal, pu-erh, and anything else you want to bring). We will try and find some funky tea pots to bring. Get trippy with your outfits, if you want. Good food pairings would be delicious pastries, yogurts, fruits, nuts, breads, etc.
We may even get some instruments out play around a little? Digis? Sound bowls? Rav drums? Idk. Feeling cute. Might delete later.
After the morning, hang, a bit of free time for the little ones to get their rest/naps before we gather to head on a hike to try and find the 'wild' ponies. It's a beautiful hike that can be as short or long as we want.
Evening: Yes. I turn 40. Whatever that means. I feel younger every day. We don't have any set plans. Just leaving this open for us to feel out as a group. Maybe some lovely hangs, playing, dancing, pogo-sticking, playing pogs, laser tag, whatever. An evening sunset hike could be nice. Potluck style dinner?
Saturday: The Ceremony Day
I think we are likely going to try and do the ceremony as early as possible to avoid other people and to make more time for celebrating, playing, etc.
Morning nourishment, teas, etc. Then, I think we need a bit of time to get ready. If you all could hang with Opal while Ashley and I get some quiet time, get ready, etc-- that would be great. We may hike separately (boys and girls) to the ceremony spot. Boys first, then girls. All 4 little ones will be flower girls. It will be so effin cute.
We will likely be getting married in the water under the waterfall. We still have to scope the spot, but we will make a decision once we scout it. We will be up there early, Tuesday or Wednesday, to try and feel it out.
Then, we will have an all-day celebration. We are trying to find a great open space with rolling hills and a view, with some trees for shade, to possibly reserve and have a big picnic/hang at. Roll around on the hills. Somersalts. Cartwheels. This is where Bjorne usually loses his clothes.
At some point, that evening, we will make a very beautiful fire ceremony at the camp.
Sunday
Completely open free day. Hangs and butt slaps. You know.
Some other things to consider...
📷 If you have any Instax or Polaroid cameras and film, bring them. We are going to try and just have them available at all times for anyone at any given time to snap candid pictures. This should add up over the weekend, and hopefully we can all take some good ones home with us.
🎒 Don't forget camp chairs, hats/sunscreen if you need, hiking shoes, swimsuits, backpacks for hiking and holding snacks, and water.
We will update you as we get closer with any more information we get.
Most importantly, THANK YOU for being a part of this. It's very special that each and every one of you are in our life, and we are so appreciative to share this time with you. Just come, play, have fun, and try not to stress about anything. Afterall, there is only ever THE moment. We already have it all.
